Helpful FAQs

Not properly seeing your plugins in the host apps is usually an easy thing to fix!

Compatibility issues, corrupted installations, and having multiple versions installed could be preventing the plugin from connecting to the host app and appearing as an option in your effects folder. Here’s an in-depth blog post on why your plugins are not showing and how to troubleshoot:

https://digitalanarchy.com/blog/video-editing-plugins/heres-why-your-plugins-arent-showing-in-the-host-application/

If you are still having issues after following the step-by-step instructions on the blog post please email a screenshot of the issue, as well as the plugin and host app version you are using.

The crosshatch lines that appear are the plugin demo watermark and can only be removed with your serial number after you purchase the plugin.

All our VFX plugin demo versions will have the watermark, however, this is the only difference between a demo and a full version, which means the watermarked demo version still allows users to access all functionalities of the plugin for testing before purchasing.

If seeing what the export looks like without the watermark is crucial for you to make a purchase decision, please email our tech support team at cs@digitalanarchy.com for assistance. We may be able to export a sample of your project if you can share that with our team.

If you have already activated the plugin and still see the watermark on the footage please try applying it to a clip and changing any settings in the plugin slightly (e.g. changing the Threshold from 20 to 19). Host apps cache everything and this will force it to re-render, which makes the watermark go away.

You can also try clearing the cache manually by:

Premiere – https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/clear-cache.html

After Effects – Choose Edit > Preferences > Media & Disk Cache (Windows) or After Effects > Preferences > Media & Disk Cache (Mac OS), and select the Empty Disk Cache button.

Final Cut Pro – Select one or more projects in the Final Cut Pro browser. Choose File > Delete Generated Project Files. Select Delete Render Files and click OK.

If clearing the cache does not work, then check this location:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Digital Anarchy\Receipts (Windows)/Users/Shared/Digital Anarchy (Mac).

There should be a “.receipts” file there.

If that file’s there, the plug-in is registered on this computer. In the host app, try clicking on a different frame in the sequence — the preview doesn’t always update after registering. If this license is in use on any other machines, that may be causing a license conflict that causes the watermark to appear.

If the watermark is still there, try deleting the effect from your clip and closing the host app, then deleting the “.receipts”  file. Re-open the host app, make sure the watermark is gone now that Flicker Free is not applied, then apply Flicker Free and register it. If the license file was moved or edited at any point, it may need to be re-created by re-registering the plug-in.

For older versions of the plugins (Flicker Free 1.0, Beauty Box 4.0, etc) there should be a file called Licenses.txt in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Digital Anarchy. Delete this file instead.

If you are still having issues after that, please email us at cs@digitalanarchy.com

If you have not yet entered your serial number here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to do that: https://digitalanarchy.com/support/install.html#faq7

If the plugin does not recognize your email and password information,  it is because you purchased through our store, not the new Digital Anarchy Cloud Management system. It means you do not have an account at https://cloud.digitalanarchy.com, and will need to use your serial number to activate the plugin. Deleting the email you typed will bring you back to a screen where you can enter the serial number and name instead.

If you want to have access to the Digital Anarchy Cloud and to access and manage all your licenses in one place (and use the account login information to authorize any plugins from now on), create a cloud account on  https://cloud.digitalanarchy.com. You can easily add your current serial numbers to your Dashboard. Any future purchases made through the Anarchy Cloud Store will automatically show on your dashboard.
